Top marks for school

A Berkhamsted school has been named as one of the 100 most-improved for sustained improvement at GCSE.

Ashlyns School was congratulated by the government’s minister of state for schools, with staff commended for their “hard work and professionalism”.

The ranking looks at 
non-selective state-funded schools across the country.

Headteacher James Shapland said: “‘It is wonderful that our continued success and ambitious targets for further improvement have been recognised.

“This school provides a well-rounded educational experience for our students, and a key strand of this is ensuring that students leave with the skills and qualifications needed to equip them for life in an increasingly competitive and ever-changing world.”
