A care home in Hemel Hempstead raised over £250 for Macmillan when it hosted a coffee morning yesterday (Tuesday).
The Lodge care home, on Broad Street, - part of B&M care homes - organised a coffee morning in a box for the relatives, where they pre-ordered their cakes ready to be picked up and enjoyed at home. They also held a coffee morning in the home for residents, with all money from both events donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Sarah Beck, engagement lead at The Lodge, said: "What a day!
"We had lots of cakes and raised just over £250 for Macmillan, we also had a raffle which went down well.
"Residents enjoyed the morning eating cakes and playing games. Helping out pulling the raffle tickets out.

One of the resident's family said: "What a lovely worthwhile cause, happy we could help come and support what fantastic work they do here and what delicious cakes.”
The official date for Coffee Morning was Friday, September 25, but with the coronavirus pandemic putting a stop to many fundraising events, Macmillan encouraged people to hold a coffee morning on any day they wanted.
The money raised will help Macmillan do whatever it takes to be there for people living with cancer and provide the support they need.
